Nervous that Nelly will get a better score than her and take the only spot in Yale, Blair decides to ruin her chances of scoring well by playing the song that reminds Nelly of her ex-boyfriend — it's by Flo Rida — then making sure said boyfriend stops by to ruin Nelly emotionally, then taking out her batteries of her calculator before the SATs. Justice for Nelly Yuki even though she likes Flo Rida.
Surprise, part two! And Nate and Blair are exes? And Nate and the mother are in a book club? Serena and Blair are fighting again! Except this time it's at Yale! Serena decides to go visit, accepting a personal invitation from the Dean of Yale himself. We see the two battle it out for attention at an exclusive invite-only event, only to kiss-and-make-up the next day.
As always. So, in conclusion, we support Jenny and this episode. Everyone is graduating high school! But during their graduation ceremony, Gossip Girl lets everyone know that they can't really get rid of her that easily.
S freaks out because she thought it would finally be the end of everyone knowing her business, so she decides to retaliate against the one and only GG. Gossip Girl decides to respond by sending out every single blast that anyone has ever sent to GG. Also, Chuck tells Blair he loves her for the first time in this episode. Rewatching the show and seeing how problematic Chuck Bass's character is, and how he's basically given a free pass to rebrand himself as a suitable guy for Blair Waldorf, it's not as cute.
But it happened. All the characters got into Ivy League schools last season, even though they are rarely seen doing schoolwork, but for show purposes, most of them decide to go to NYU. Vanessa becomes romantically involved with an awkward guy who ends up being—gasp! Finally, and most importantly, Blair and Chuck are really cute in this one. This episode has a lot of surprises. The introduction to Hillary Duff as a cast member in season three! Tyra Banks as an emotional actress who takes advice from Serena!
This relationship was just completely inappropriate. Nate meets Sage when she profiles him for what he thinks is an article, but is actually a high school report. He finds out that not only is she in high school and seventeen, but she's the daughter of Serena's boyfriend, it's just not a great situation. He breaks up with her when she releases Dan and Serena's sex tape , but she later manages to convince him to take her back. In the time jump at the end of season six, it doesn't look like they're still together.
Nate wins the award for Used By the Most Women. Juliet Sharp is a fellow student at Columbia University, and they develop a friendship that turns into a romantic relationship once he realizes he doesn't want to be with Serena anymore. There's always trust issues in their relationship, and with good reason: Juliet is constantly lying about who she is and what her motives are.
He breaks up when things get too complicated, and later helps chase her out of the city when it's revealed that she only came to ruin Serena's life. Nate and Diana meet at a Hollywood party at the start of season five , where they hook up after he pretends her house is his. When she arrives in New York, they continue their relationship, and she hires him to work for her newspaper, The Spectator. Their relationship is secretive because Diana doesn't want to take things public.
Nate uses Charlie who's really Ivy, but he didn't know that yet to make Diana jealous so that she'll take things public with him. He later finds out that she was paid by his grandfather to give him a job and get him started by having him take over The Spectator. Nate and Jenny develop feelings for each other when he moves in with her family in season two after Dan generously takes him in. They don't really get to have a real relationship, because Dan kicks him out of the house when he finds out.
Nate leaves a letter for Jenny, which Vanessa gets rid of. Jenny later tries to break up Nate's relationship with Serena, but still, nothing actually transpires between them. Nate starts dating Bree Buckley, the daughter of his grandfather's political rival. This choice made sense for Nate, who always wanted to do something his family wouldn't approve of.
It's eventually revealed that Bree was only dating Nate in order to get to Carter Baizen, who she sought revenge for after he left her cousin at the alter. This means that he sees her as a real person, rather than the popular pretty girl on a pedestal. Dan is very smart, and he challenges Serena to be better in many ways.
He talks about their income differences and makes Serena acknowledge her privilege. Making things better, Dan encourages Serena when shes goes for career opportunities. Since Serena is a beautiful and fun-loving person, others don't notice her other qualities. Dan sees that she is kind, and that she is smart. By being with Dan, Serena is forced not to settle for the easy road. Her relationship with Dan causes her to grow. Serena's relationship with Nate started in friendship.
In some ways, this makes it a healthier relationship than the one that she has with Dan. Even if she and Nate aren't together, he will always be there for her. Nate values Serena's friendship.
While we could say many things about Nate, one of his strongest qualities is his sense of loyalty to his friends. He would be there for them in a heartbeat. In contrast, Dan has always seen Serena as a potential romance. He hasn't gotten to know her as a friend. Although he cares about her, it isn't exactly the same. While the last season complicates this point, the first seasons show a Dan willing to put up with snobby people and awkward encounters for Serena. It's clear that those in Serena' s world don't think highly of Dan.
Although he probably wants them to like him, he still stays true to himself. This means that he isn't going to sacrifice who he is just to belong to that world. However, he puts himself in situations that aren't comfortable or welcoming in order to be there for Serena.
He's willing to become a part of her world for her. Dan may claim the moral high-ground, but he is a master schemer as we find out more towards the end of the show. Nate, on the other hand, rarely schemes. He may be conflicted about his desires, as he once was between Blair and Serena, and he may be used by others, but overall Nate is pretty honest.
